"Slow as Molasses & Noisy" on by SNSNS
Pros: Case Design
Cons: Slow as Molasses & Noisy
Summary: This drive is so slow that I ended up stopping the 250 gig transfer, deleted the incomplete files, unplugged all cables, boxed it up and sent it back.
WHAT WAS LACIE THINKING WHEN THEY MADE THIS JUNKER? YOU HAVE TO BE A MASOCHIST TO USE THIS.
STAY FAR AWAY. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. -
"Don't buy it" on by super max
Pros: Hooks up easily
Cons: Dies and takes your music with it
Summary: Worked fine for 6 months. Then one day it just stopped. Customer support is hopeless and too slow. If your NAS drives you want it confirmed quickly so that you can move on and buy something else. Not left hanging there. Save your time and money. Don't buy it.

"4 years old & still working...w/ one help from Support" on by tcomments
Pros: Still working after 4 years. Lacie Support was quick and accurate in fixing sole problem.
Low cost when purchased as place to share files at home with family and provide a backup location; it has filled that very well as it gets accessed daily.Cons: Stopped working within first year. Even though light was on, support suggested new power supply and that solved everything. Just wish it had not happened; after reading other reviews, it sounds like they had a known defect and did not let customers know
Summary: Lacie Support is very good.
The Mini is not a current product, but may be worthwhile on used market if you know it is working. If not, be prepared to try another power supply. -
"Save your money for something else" on by Heartstealer101
Pros: Affordable
Cons: The power supply used with this line of NAS drives is garbage. I went through three power supplies,
Summary: Slow, Garbage Power Supply ... overall a piece of junk.

"Stopped Working After 1 Month!!!" on by tim-burrell
Pros: very well made case, aluminium, very solid.
Cons: slow, high failure rate, hipserv is not very usable
Summary: Based on my experience with this drive I won't be touching another LaCie product in a long while.
NAS refused to function after only 1 month, eventually support offered to take a look at it for ?69, about 3/4 of the price of a new drive. If this is the way LaCie makes money, they deserve to be out of business asap.
