"Wow, it just works!"
5.0 starson by zematnetPros: Delivers parental controls that WORK, installed at the network layer (thin client on the host IF desired for AV, spam, etc.), easy to deploy and administer FROM ONE SINGLE LOCATION, wow...I hope DLink keeps up the good work and adds more features!
Cons: Spam setting puked on my initial e-mail send/receive attempts but after about five minutes is no longer an issue.
Summary: I actually deployed Secure Spot 2.0 to my D-Link dir-655. Was about to fork out 60 bucks for the DSD-150, but luckily read a review from a store site where the reviewer pointed out that D-Link was now offering Secure Spot for the DIR-655, DIR-628, and DIR-625 wireless router models. Twenty minutes to backup, upgrade firmware, reapply configuration for my router. Secure Spot takes over from there guiding you through each step. Then upon each computer making a call out to the internet, a request is sent to the client to either register or take guest access with limited browsing capabilities through the Secure Spot service and my router. Another forty-five minutes playing with the settings for each client (4 in all). Done! Now my wife and I get e-mail and SMS texts to our phones if a violation takes place and no bloat-ware on my computers! WOW!
