"Does not work as a print server" on by laborartists
Pros: Plug-and-play connections
Cons: Does not work as a print server
Summary: Although it is billed as, among other things, a "print server," the manufacturer told me pointblank that the device is NOT certified to work with "every printer out there." In fact, the customer service rep concluded during our chat that my HP LaserJet 1022 is in fact NOT compatible with the print server "function" of this device. When I asked what printers WERE compatible, the rep told me that Iomega did not keep lists of compatible and incompatible printers, even though the device is BILLED AS A PRINT SERVER. When I pointed out that my LaserJet printer is one of the most popular models from one of the most popular printer manufacturers (HP), he replied that I couldn't possibly expect them to test the device with every printer on the market. BUT IT'S A PRINT SERVER. That is its function. If you don't test it to see whether it actually works with printers, then what is the point? Do NOT purchase this device with the intention of using it to share your printer over a home Windows network. The manufacturer has admitted that it has NO IDEA which printers do and do not work with the print server function of this device. My unit is going back to the store for a refund.

"Doesn't work" on by Jim21043
Pros: Couldn't find any because two units I purchased didn't work.
Cons: I purchased two units and even with Iomega's tech support we could not get either unit to work. No 3 strikes here - your OUT!
Summary: Great idea but don't waist your time.

"Excellent device to wirelessly network my USB drives" on by reemus
Pros: Small, easy to setup, allows me to see all the data on 4 USB drives I have wired or wirelessly. Torrent feature works nicely and allows me to do torrents PC-free. Wireless streaming of music, photos, and videos to my iPad, PS3, PC's and other devices. Pow
Cons: Transfer between two USB drives is extremely slow - workaround is to disconnect the drives and use a PC instead. Have to reset the device every couple of days, but not a huge inconvenience. Does not power down USB disks after being idle, so what I do is t
Summary: If you are the patient type of user and want to save a lot of money versus a NAS, go for this compromise. A lot of features and convenience for a sub-$80 price. The convenience is fantastic.

"Missed the mark" on by dcastor
Pros: Good concept, attach USB devices to the network; Username/password access control
Cons: Share level access control only, so if you have users that you only want to have access to a folder or two, you can't limit to those folders only. You can't add folders from the web page, which prevents organizing files that are uploaded.
Summary: I say spend your money on another option...perhaps a small PC running FREENAS?
