"Best SOHO firewall"

5 stars  | on by FOXA707

Pros

Very stable (just what I want), Solid build, excellent LAN and wireless connectivity, good firewall protection with Deep Packet Inspection security services, SSL VPN works like charm and easy to configure. No sound of spinning cooling fan.

Cons

Very expensive, still hard to configure, only two 10/100/1000 interfaces, one can be used as LAN. All the options are very expensive. Regrettably URL and Key word blocking required optional license, immoral design of power adapter.

Summary

Over all this is the best firewall router I have ever tested in my home. Most recently I have tested NETGEAR UTM9, Cisco SA520W-K9 (was a horrible product) and Draytek Vigor 2930Vn (was good enough). This not a router for beginners, however SonicWALL tried their best to make it easier ... Read full review

For 6 weeks my TZ210 has been declining our static IP address. The ISP has run multiple tests(they have received the same complaint from other users. Sonic wall tech was curt and said she cant see how it is their problem...while my business suffers! I run a customer service based company, this attitude towards customers would not be tolerated. Over the past month we have submitted multiple data captures for review, today we were told to collect and submit more and they MAY elevate it. Don't Buy!

"Feature rich, expensive but poor wireless, limited GbE"

2.5 stars  | on by happy?_etax_filer

Pros

Firewall and VPN features are powerful & flexible

Cons

Although advertised as having 5 10/100 and 2 10/100/1000 interfaces one of the Gb interfaces is dedicated to the WAN leaving only one Gb interface for the LAN. Who needs or wants 100 Mb interfaces these days? The Wireless interface support 802.11n but i

Based on my experience the extra $200 for wireless capability would be better spent on a separate wireless router run in bridge mode. Based on my experience the extra $200 for wireless capability would be better spent on a separate wireless router run in bridge mode. Even consumer grade devices from Linksys, Netgear et al would be better choices. The decision to provide 5 fast Ethernet LAN interfaces and only one Gb interface is incomprehensible.
