"Awasu Pro 2.2 Is Very Good"
4.0 starson by TrackSnakeLAPros: Excellent graphics, granularity of control.
Cons: Make sure you've got a healthy computer.
Summary: I'm a newbie to news aggregators, BUT tested FeedDemon 2.1, NewzCrawler, RSS Owl and Awasu Pro 2.2 on Windows XP Pro and Media Center 2005. Because Awasu's layout, colors and ability to change it's features are excellent, it was my final choice, even for $60. The colors make your newsreading faster and more efficient and support seems to be pretty good. But it's not support designed for computer newbies, and I doubt any of the support offered for other RSS readers would be.
I opted for client software, local to my machines, rather than a Web browser-based RSS reader; I'd prefer to keep my searches and news interests away from companies which keep track of them.
Keep your computer and firewall in good shape, or Awasu could lock-up your system. A computer dancing "on the edge" of being overwhelmed will freeze, as did an elderly Pentium III of mine with it's own issues before Awasu was installed.
