AirPort Extreme Update 2007-001 Special Report: AirPort card not recognized
Some users are reporting an issue where built-in AirPort hardware is not properly recognized after applying AirPort Extreme Update 2007-001.
Data suggest that this problem may be soluble via the following workarounds, adapted from our wireless troubleshooting tutorial:
Reset SMC In some cases, resetting your Intel-based Mac's SMC (System Management Controller) can revive built-in AirPort hardware. Instructions for various models are available in the following Knowledge Base articles:
Reset NVRAM Resetting NVRAM may also resolve some AirPort recognition issues.
In order to perform this process, shut down your Mac, then start it back up while immediately holding the following keys: Command, Option, P and R. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the third time.

MacFixIt reader Kurt writes:
"After installing this update I have no airport connectivity at all. Internet Connect shows a line of 'Status not available'. So it's not an issue of not being able to connect, it's an issue of AirPort not being enabled."
