Apple's iPod crunch hurting market share? BusinessWeek Online reports "Apple's lowest-priced iPod has been largely unavailable for the past two months, a situation analysts say could carve away the company's share of the market for MP3 players." For much of the past two months the low-end model has been listed on Apple's online store as "temporarily unavailable," leaving the $399 10GB model as the cheapest iPod available. More.

Shipments of LCD monitors rise CNET reports that, driven by high demand for flat-panel displays and televisions, shipments of liquid-crystal displays increased more quickly than expected during the fourth quarter. "First, prices fell significantly in the fourth quarter due to weak shipments and inventory build-up during the previous two quarters. The lower prices then led to higher demand for LCD TVs and flat-panel displays for desktop computers during the 2002 holiday season." More.
