Datek Streamer Workaround No Longer Works

Following up on our previous coverage of problems and solutions with Datek Streamer, we have one report that the workaround no longer functions. Gordon Vickrey writes: "Since Datek made changes to Streamer a few weeks ago, it has not run on Macs. I had been using the workaround of saving the Streamer console as an HTML page and opening that page with the Apple Applet Runner. As of this morning that no longer works. One attempt at doing this generated a "cannot establish a secure connection" error. Further attempts just hung the system. Datek support is now acknowledging that Streamer won't run on Macs. In a phone call this morning I was told that: 'we are aware of the problem, and are working on it, but no resolution date can be offered at this time.'" Update: William Harris writes: "Yes it stopped working one morning a few days ago, apparently because they made some changes in the syntax, but by once again following the procedures to get it working the first time, it worked again."
