Epson replies regarding Epson Stylus Driver Updater and its return

Regarding the status of Epson Stylus Driver Updater v1.0ES (see previous item), Guy Walker replies:
"I am the person at Epson America, Inc. responsible for the decision to remove the Epson Stylus Driver Updater v1.0ES from our web and FTP servers. I would like to clear up any skepticism about this situation. I believe that the statement that you attributed to us in your 1/27 report says everything except; that, to my knowledge, we have not found any issues with the driver and that we expect to have the file posted once again for all users by Wednesday (renamed to avoid any misunderstandings such as "stupid tricks").

Simply put, the demand for the file was very large and overwhelmed our servers. I believe that the reason for the large demand for the file was because the file provided an update to 22 of our EPSON Stylus printers and fixed an issue that was being experienced by more users than we believed."

A few have noticed that the update is already showing up for the EPSON Stylus COLOR 740, but it will not be until Wednesday that it is relisted for all 22 products.
