Slide shows look bad when burned to DVD.

Slide show quality, transition issues MacFixIt reader Pete Kunasz laments the quality of exported DVD slide shows under iDVD '08:

"When using iDVD to create a slide show, the slide show, no matter if created from iPhoto and then imported into iDVD, or created in iDVD from images in iPhoto ( using Professional Quality setting), will look great when viewed on the computer monitor. But if you burn the slideshow onto a DVD, then watch it on screen with Apple's DVD Player, it looks terrible. I brought this to Apple Support and they were unable to offer any advice as to why this is so."

Meanwhile, some users are reporting problems with transitions between slideshows. A reader writes:

"In a DVD with four small slideshows, the slide-to-slide transitions are not rendered. Instead, 'green screen' is inserted between the photographs upon playback. This occurs whether the DVD is actually burned, or just when a disk image is made. This is a less-than-2GB DVD, and the G4 machine had 1 GB of RAM, 27 GB of free disk."
