Slow podcast downloads Users continue to report slow downloading of podcasts, non-specific to iTunes 7.0.2. It appears that most of the bottleneck occurs when Apple mirrors podcasts on its own servers.

MacFixIt reader Eric Bendick writes:

"I'm the producer of the TERRA podcast which is available through the iTunes store. Downloading through the store is crawling at miserably slow speeds! Close to 3HRs for our 30MB episodes.  Meanwhile, we are able to download directly off our website in minutes! This proves it is not our servers but the software that is creating the bottleneck."

Problems with long playlists Some users report continuation of problems with a large number of playlists in iTunes 7.0.2.

One reader writes:

"iTunes 7.0.2 tries to fix the bug all available Playlists in the iPod preferences.  However, it only displays the first 1048 playlists.  I?ve got about 3500 playlists (for 48,000 songs) and only get as far as Garcia when scrolling through my playlists."

Installation problems Some users have also had problems applying the iTunes 7.0.2 update.

"I've just tried to load this latest update iTunes 7.02 and it hangs up less than halfway into the installation process. I'm running a first generation iMac G5 on system Mac OS X 10.39."
