Apple claims "Pod" trademark The Register reports that Apple is stepping up legal threats against companies it accuses of infringing its trademarks. The computer giant has written to two US companies asking them to stop using the word 'pod'. "Mach5 Products makes the Profit Pod, a device for wirelessly collecting data from arcade games or other vending machines. The device keeps track of how many coins are put into a machine and that information can be put straight into a spreadsheet. But Apple claims the device is 'confusingly similar' to its own trademarked music player." More.

Steve Jobs in 'robust health' - Apple Macworld UK reports that Apple has issued a rare comment in response to rumor and speculation regarding the health of CEO Steve Jobs. "In a rare moment of revelation, Apple responded to the speculation-led enquiry, saying: 'Steve's health is robust and we have no idea where these rumors are coming from.'" More.

Apple leads customer satisfaction survey News.com reports on a study released Tuesday by the University of Michigan shows that overall satisfaction increased by 4.1 percent on Michigan's American Customer Satisfaction Index to a rating of 77, the highest achieved by the industry since 1994. "Apple Computer led the pack among computer individual vendors with a rating of 83, a 2.5 percent improvement over last year's score. Dell, under siege all year for its customer service problems, rebounded from 2005, improving its score by 5.4 percent to 78." More.
