No fast SCSI for new Power Mac G4s (FireWire 800)?

No fast SCSI for new Power Mac G4s (FireWire 800)?

CNET staff

As of today, no SCSI built-to-order options exist for the newly Power Macintosh G4 (FireWire 800), nor the Mac OS 9-booting holdover Power Mac G4 MDD models.

Previously there were Ultra160 SCSI cards with matching drive. The absence comes as a disappointment to many users who have significant investments in high-speed SCSI drive arrays.

Martin Totusek writes:

"Is this how (Apple) deals with the reported OS X SCSI issues, by only offering the OEM Adaptec PCI external SCSI options, with the reported data corruption issues with both the retail and OEM Adaptec PCI SCSI cards and OS X, and by dropping the OEM ATTO PCI SCSI cards?

"Or will the ATTO PCI SCSI cards and Ultra160 internal hard disk options be soon again offered at the Apple Store, and are gone only just for the moment for reasons that have not been disclosed to Mac users?"
