iTunes 2.0: "Preferences could not be displayed" Alert Apple KB article 60965 states: "If you have a large number of files in your music library, you may need to increase iTunes memory allocation to set preferences or use iPod."

AirPort slowdown: a follow-up Regarding our previous item on a potential fix for an Ethernet slowdown with AirPort 2.0, a reader replies: "A similar fix somewhat worked for me. I had to first reset the iBook with the hidden button above the keyboard (SE 466 model). Then reconfigure the Base Station to uncheck 'Distribute IP addresses' and reboot. I did not need to zap the PRAM."

HP and Palm conflict? Terry Dunham and Christine Hottinger both report a conflict between certain multi-function HP devices (PSC 750 and OfficeJet G85xi were cited) and Palm HotSync software. An HP tech support person confirmed this to Christine, suggesting that the problem also involved Apple's USB and Energy Saver software. An HP rep told Terry that "new drivers to be released by Dec 10" would fix this and other "stability" problems.
