Norton Privacy Control blocks Apple QuickTime site? Brent Rossow writes: "Norton Privacy Control (part of Norton's latest Internet Security suite release) effectively blocks Apple's QuickTime site. I believe this is because most of the content is loading from Akamai servers rather than Apple's own servers. I turned off the Privacy Control features and it works, but now I'm staring at banner ads again." Update: However, another reader counters: "I am using Norton Privacy Control and can access that site and its content."
6400 Zone temporarily offline due to bandwidth restraints Thomas Koons, owner of the exceptionally helpful 6400 Zone Web site, reports that the site was shut down because it had exceeded the bandwidth limitation set by Apple. Evidently someone had the good sense to turn the site back on. It was back up last time we checked. We have seen several reports like this, but we do not know how much bandwidth is too much.
