SoundInputCS4236 and SoundOutputCS4236 cause problems; can be installed via Mac OS 8.0

Last time, we mentioned that a mysterious SoundInputCS4236 file causes problems for DVD drives. A reader offers more details:
"This little gem and its counterpart, SoundOutputCS4236, cause Macs to freeze when visiting Java-enabled and RealPlayer enabled sites. It is apparently used to support a Cirrus CrystalClear audio chip (as noted on MacInTouch). Only certain Macs need these extensions, but they are included with OS 8.0 when you do a clean install, and choose the option '..for any Macintosh.'"

[Note: Using TomeViewer, I did confirm that these files are included with Mac OS 8.0, but are no longer included with Mac OS 8.5.]
