Specs of Bluetooth CTO on Power Mac G4 (FireWire 800)

CNET staff

An Apple service provider who wishes to remain anonymous sent along some information from the internal service manual regarding the Power Mac G4 (FireWire 800) Bluetooth set-up:

"The service manual for the new G4s (Power Mac G4 (FW 800) shows that the Bluetooth CTO module is a module that mounts internally, and is then connected to an internal, (blue) antenna by the AirPort card. So, purchasers of a CTO G4 can have Bluetooth capability added for an additional $50; this module will not then take up a USB port, and also presumably gets better range than the $50 Bluetooth USB retail module."

It should be noted that Apple's currently shipping Mac OS 9 boot-capable Power Mac G4 models do not sport the new Bluetooth connection scheme.
