Some computers can't connect Users are reporting problems connecting some Macs -- particularly those running Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) -- to the wireless router component of Apple's newly shipping Time Capsule.

Some readers are having success disabling wireless security in order to establish connections -- obviously not a viable solution.

One reader writes:

"All Macs running 10.5.2 worked as before but the iMac G4 running 10.4.11 would not allow connection to the network. Network connection could not be established was the error message after the WPA password was entered. Tried WEP and that wouldn't work either. Finally had to remove security all together to get the iMac to connect to the network. No solution yet."

Cannot use Ethernet Meanwhile, some users are reporting problems transferring data via Ethernet. Many users choose to use Ethernet for faster initial backups.

In some cases, deleting all data from the Time Capsule, turning off Time Machine, unplugging the Time Capsule for several seconds then turning the unit back on will allow Ethernet connectivity.
