Twin Turbo 128 4.0.5 conflict with ATM

Following up on our item last time, describing problems with the Twin Turbo 4.0.5 update, several readers have identified a conflict between the update and ATM. For example:

Mark Lewis writes: "After installing the update, Netscape Navigator no longer worked with ATM's font smoothing. Moving the window and forcing a redraw on a non-TT monitor made font smoothing operate correctly. A web page that had no italics on it became half italics, half normal text. Also the spacing seemed to be seriously impaired. Reverting to 4.0.2 fixed the problem."

Stephen Hutson noted similar problems with ATM Deluxe 4.0. In particular, ATM did not smooth fonts in some applications when the TwinTurbo Acceleration 4.0.5 extension was active. These applications included: SimpleText, Netscape Navigator 4.05 and Claris Emailer 2.0v3. Dave Rawcliffe and Michael McHugh also confirm this. Reverting to the Twin Turbo 4.0.2 driver eliminated the problems.
