Virex 5.9.1 is out in final version (following the release of public betas). It fixes the Network copy and Navigation services bugs mentioned here before, although it still may have some problems of its own (see Monday's item).

OS Booster 1.0 is a new utility that claims that increase the running speed of your applications - if you are only running one application at a time. It may be especially useful for running emulators, such as Virtual PC or Virtual Game Stations.

NavCom Cache Control v1.1.1 has been released. This update to the new utility for accessing the memory cache of Netscape browsers was originally intended to be v1.0.3; but the author added enough new features that he decided to call it v1.1 (and then released 1.1.1). It includes Auto-find and beefed up file validation.

HandyMan 2.0.5 is now available. It is a Control Strip Launching Module. It works by clicking on icons installed in a floating window, or dropping documents onto them. The update removed the Timelimit and Beta notice. It follows version 2.0.4, which add improved Mac OS 8.5 support as well as several bug fixes.

MindExpander 0.91 is now available. This update to this new file decompression utility now "works well with proxy servers, including those that require user authentication. This fixes self-updating and registration troubles that some proxy server users were experiencing." It also uses less memory and fixed a couple of bugs.

Hi's Universal Saver 1.5.2 is out. This is a little application which runs quietly in the background and automatically saves your work at an interval which you select. This version is a minor update which now uses less CPU time and fixes a cosmetic bug with the Settings dialog box which occurred under Mac OS 8.0.

Big Hairy Installer 1.7.2 is out. It adds several features, including the ability to log errors.

FinderKeeper has been updated to v. 1.0.2

OSA Menu 1.2b is out.

Hard Disk Speed Tools 1.5.5 is out.

NetFinder 2.0b6 has been released.

PPP Menu 2.0.6 is out. This companion to FreePPP (as well as OT//PPP and Remote Access) now works with Mac OS 8.5.
