"Good word processor, I really like the changes." on by rhinegoldwagner
Pros: Same stable word processor and all the old favorites I have liked for years.
Cons: Bought the Suite -- though I don't use all the extras, all I needed was the Email program, which doesn't work at all, very disappointing. Tried to get help from their CS center, promised calls back, never got one call back from them.
Summary: Great word processor, but don't bother with the email program, it doesn't work and there is no customer service support. Very disappointing to use this product for more than 15 years and I counted on it helping me when I got a new computer with Windows 7 and couldn't use my Outlook Express any longer and needed a new email program.
I had hoped this was the solution, but quickly found out it was not a solution in the least. Sorry to say that Corel support is poor for this product component. -
"Nothing more than a glorified update." on by atenom29
Pros: WordPerfect is a fantastic word processor, with more features than MSWord.
Cons: Paying for a so called upgrade
Summary: It is only a glorified update. I could“t find any significant improvements on X3 to justify paying for a so called upgrade, but, as far as I know, it is still the best available

"How in the world is MS Word more popular?" on by roark3
Pros: Two words--"reveal codes"; if you don't know what it means, you won't understand why people who have tried WordPerfect insist on WordPerfect and laugh at people who struggle with MS Word.
Cons: Corel needs to work on full Windows 7 compatibility. Right now, there is no iFilter for WordPerfect X4 so Windows 7 indexing doesn't work. Fix this Corel!

"Still the best word processor available" on by dmaddox44
Pros: Reveal Code: it not only shows you why something looks the way it does but provides one-click access to the screens to make changes.
Price: most people qualify for the upgrade price.
Endlessly customizable: Leave it as is or adjust it to your needs.Cons: Some of the conversion results aren't free of error, but I can see with each upgrade that the results are getting better and better.

"Word Perfect over Word any day any time" on by haessler
Pros: Intuitive and user friendly
Cons: Has no cons - WP just gets better and better
Summary: I have had to use both Word and Word Perfect since 1980 and there is no way Microsoft can better any of their programs that will be as easy and user friendly as Corel's products, and especially Word Perfect. Corel is innovative; Microsoft is not. You have to think with Word, etc., but not with Word Perfect. No comparison can really be made between a slug and a program that is great - Word Perfect. I have both on my computer and just convert from WordPerfect to Word, etc., when I must, but never work in Office if I can avoid it. Waste too much time thinking and too many menus to hop around. I like straight forward programs and Microsoft's stuff is never straight forward. Ugh!
