  • "Best office yet."
    on by s1rf

    Pros Skydrive sync.

Cons A couple of nuances to get used to.

  • "Wow - I think I like Office 365"
    on by tdogdfw

Pros Skype Credit? Didn't see that coming.
    SkyDrive 20GB? NICE
Cloud integration and touch functionality is welcome as always
Lots of new features as expected

Cons I have no problem with subscription model - in fact, I welcome it.

Summary This could be the best release of Office yet - mainly because of the Cloud integration and new features with SkyDrive and Skype. Those were unexpected, but very refreshing and welcome additions to an already industry leading product.

I'm super excited about this release.

  • "Worth the upgrade;faster,less obtrusive,better designed"

Pros -The fastest, easiest install I've ever seen.
    -Saving to SKYDRIVE!
    -Tons of excel improvements
    -Excellent Reading mode for Word
-Nice to have free Skype minutes and 20GB of storage thrown in
-Smoother typing in word and outlook.
    -Slick animations.

Cons -$100 a year is a bunch. It makes sense for me only if you have 3 or more computers. $60/year would have been much better(that's $5 month).

Summary If you've ever installed office before you know that takes a while. This must have been 3 minutes TOTAL from clicking install to opening Word.
Saving to Skydrive is something they should have done a LONG time ago. It makes so much sense since you get 20GB with the subscription. It'll take a while for me to upload roughly 12 years worth of documents but it will be nice to have them anywhere I need them.

This isn't a pro of this suite, but it's nice to be able to do some light editing directly on the web for excel and word docs.
Excel has this nice little button everytime you select a range to convert to tables, pivot tables, and quick shortcuts. Very handy!

Reading mode!! is excellent in Word. Knowing where I left off so I can pick up right away was initially a nice touch, but now I
realize I'm saving a lot of time because I don't have to repeat
the same search over and again.

Ribbon is auto collapsed giving me more default space in word, Excel which is a nice touch.

I disagree with the CNET review about templates. I use those ALL the time in Excel for all kinds of calculations. I like that it's front and center now.

Totally worth the upgrade for anyone with more than 3 computers with some small perks thrown in (20GB free space and some Skype minutes). There are a bunch of features in Word, Excel which I use most often that are definite time savers. Everything does seem smoother and quicker and there are way less annoyances.

Pros With touchscreen mode it makes it easy to use on touchscreen, and if you have a streamer, on your iDevice.
Templates make it easier to start and finish a project quicker.

Cons Can be slow and buggy, especially when connecting to skydrive.

  • "The Himilaya's when we needed the Catskills."
    on by TechnicusArt

Pros More $ for MS; more work for me

Cons Too Metro; save to computer is clunky; Outlook BRIGHT WHITE ***? Stick with 2007/2010 and save ur $; this is a hoax.

Summary Don't bother with 2013 Office; its a bloated carcass of 2007!
