Designed to replace Outlook Express, Windows Live Desktop Mail beta is a preview edition of Microsoft's new, free desktop e-mail application, which lets you edit images and read messages from Gmail and Yahoo accounts.
Microsoft is already renovating Hotmail and renaming it Windows Live Mail. As if all the Windows Live rebranding weren't confusing enough to track, today a beta edition of yet another e-mail tool is rolling out from Redmond.

"Bare bones email program" By DMCattrell
Pros: Easy to set up
Cons: Does not clean email off your server, can't view HTML email
Summary: My new p.c. with Windows 7 came with Windows live mail and I have been very disappointed. It seems every time Microsoft comes out with a new OS, the functionality of the pre-installed software goes down. I like Outlook and Outlook express. I learned to live with Windows Mail ... Pros: Fit your gmail, yahoo, ISP or POP3, hotmail, and more....
Cons: One tiny little bug, when you delete your email it stays in the preview
