"Awesome Product Updates Auto thru Win Update" on by pugsley0134

Pros: Fit your gmail, yahoo, ISP or POP3, hotmail, and more....

Cons: One tiny little bug, when you delete your email it stays in the preview

Summary: This email application would be a ROCK SOLID 10, except for one tiny bug, it gives you a preview at the bottom of each email and when you delete your email the preview pane stays until you switch folders and if you come back its GONE!!! Other than that, I have my all my email applications in one place now and I do NOT have to even open my browser to check my email.

Also, this comes with stationary, and you can even design your own in the easy stationary wizard. Also packed with goodies, graphics, themes, change layouts, send photo emails, attachments, so much more to actually mention. You can customize everything from your view, to the actual toolbar, and even change the colors of the toolbar and bottom pane as well. It takes a minute or 10 to get everything set up, but its fairly easy and there is full online help and support for this product then. Also it has a built in RSS feeder, and Newsgroups, and there is so much info with the pre installed RSS Feeds of MSN and Microsoft about tech issues, ect... Also your Windows Live IM shows up in the upper right hand corner and you can do just about anything in this email application, and when you paste your photos in for a photo email, you can resize them and add a frame and text to your image and I just can not say enough about this product, and to think, it is only in the Beta Version!!!

I have to be totally honest; Thunderbird was my favorite, but with this email client when you hit minimize, it easily disappears right down into the system tray on the lower right by your clock and doesnt use up much virtual memory at all. You do not even need to have your IM open for new email alerts!!! Your white little envelope icon will simply turn yellow and then you know someone loves ya for sure!!!

Thanks Microsoft and the team at Windows Live, keep up the awesome work, your blowing yahoo and google and everyone else right out of the water with this application.

    Take Care Everyone
I brag about this often, I would advice anyone to give it a shot.

"Bare bones email program" on by DMCattrell

    Pros: Easy to set up

Cons: Does not clean email off your server, can't view HTML email

Summary: My new p.c. with Windows 7 came with Windows live mail and I have been very disappointed. It seems every time Microsoft comes out with a new OS, the functionality of the pre-installed software goes down. I like Outlook and Outlook express. I learned to live with Windows Mail on the Vista platform, but "Live" mail is completely unacceptable. Maybe as a new user I'm missing something. I was astonished when it only asked for my email address and pasword. I didn't have to configure the Pop3 path and all that other stuff that usually accompanies setting up an email program. At this point, I'm thinking cool! But then I find out, it's not cleaning the emails off the server. If I log on to my comcast account on line, or switch over to the lap top that still has the old Windows mail, then all the email I thought I had just read and deleted is still there! Also it will not display html delivered messages, such as you get from businesses you deal with. I'm annoyed that I now have to purchase a FULL version (not the Student/home office) of Microsoft office so I can get Outlook back. Yes for $109 I can get Outlook alone, but I need to upgrade my word and excel so I'm pretty much stuck. More money grubbing on the part of Microsoft and it's making me an unhappy customer.
