"Yahoo closes the circle of friends."
Pros: Hardly managable editor, but it does the job
Cons: Hardly "friendly" for the loan Blogger
Summary: yahoo 360 can be a cruel place to be if you don't have many friends. Yahoo promotes 360 by means of an indroduction to a "circle of friends" and will always be destined to fall foul of the same chat "snob" element.
I've researced it myself and and had reports of 29 friends in the "circle" 28 Postings on 904 visits with only 5 responses to the whole lot(threee of them mine) and yeah, the blogs are interesting to anyone with half a brain. So what gives?
That sorta leaves the lady thinking she's a none participant in the grand circle of Yahoo and she's pulling out. But before the cry goes out that "But it's a Blog!" do remember here that Yahoo profess it to be much more than that. It's participation that is the aim here, and if no one wants to participate with you then your blog exempts you "just because."
OK, so it's a blog. But Yahoo promote the circle of friends and, in trying to outdo, make it more. But that doesn't stop the circles from staying tight.
Sure ... Get yourself some friends, plenty will oblige to boost their numbers up; but in many cases don't hold your breath for a single response back at your own Blog once they have you as a friend (but by all means respond to theirs ... thats the idea. Get it?)
I have Blogs elsewhere. I really don't have time for the clicky participants, the prima-donnas and the macho six-packers that Yahoo 360 promotes. I've spent some time looking through some of the Blogs and would say fair-play to those that use it and are happy with it.
But, for me at least, it's a "stand-alone" all singing all dancing interaction that begs to fall short in many area's, and in my opinion it does exactly that.
