"Too little, too late"
Pros: No scanned advertisement
Cons: No free POP3. More storage on Gmail
Summary: Until they offer POP3 for free, it's strictly Gmail for me (that rhymes
).
Seriously speaking, while I do have a Yahoo acount, I do not use it because of the lack of free POP3. It's good, nonetheless (that's why I gave it a 7), but I find it easier for me to retrieve all my mail using Outlook. I'll keep using Gmail.
Furthermore, If Gmail didn't come out with its massive amount of storage do you really think Yahoo and other would have increased theirs?

other extensions like yahoo.ca and other countries give free POP access. but that still not good because it shows that its not that yahoo wants to give free pop on this extensions but HAS to, inorder to grow its user population. .com is flooded, so next thing you know they reach their desirable quota for users on .ca .it .de etc. and pop access can become chargable option like it happened on .com > so I say stick with Gmail

I have a Yahoo UK e-mail address and have been using it as a POP3 account with OE - and it is free.

I understand everyone's concern about Yahoo Mail not offering free POP3 access to thier servers. Maybe this will become a reality whilst it is still in Beta. I don't think that Yahoo has yet to realize that this is a big reason why Gmail is giving them a run for their money and kicking their butts. I personally use a program called YPOPs to download mail that is in my Yahoo account. You can get more info on it and download it at http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/

you just had to pay for it. Besides, what they are offering now is way more than any one can use. I have been yahoo's email system for years and the most I have ever used was 3MB. 1GB is an insane amount and anything over that is over kill. I was plenty happy with 4MB and 100 was big enough for room to grow. I even have three email accounts forwarding to the same yahoo account I have had for years. If you really have that much stuff saved in your email, like attachments, maybe you should save them to your computer. Email was designed for data transfer and temporary storage, not permanent.

I have the same problem with yahoo. Since it doesn't allow for free POP access, I am stuck with Gmail. In fact the biggest complaint is the following:
Not all Yahoo sites make you pay for POP access (Italy for example allows you free POP access).
Basically I should create another Yahoo mail account and have POP... I find this strategy so strange. I would rather have the chance to access my mails from Outlook, and when I am abroad use the online version of Yahoo Mail.
