Summary: I stopped at Binoculars in Duluth, MN and came away with a product that is more than what I thought I could afford. I bought the Nikon 10x42 Monarch ATB.
I did a fair amount of research and this is what I wanted to look at, but I also wanted to hold and look at others. These folks let me compare any models I wanted before buying.
These are light weight, good features (fog/water/shock proof) and most importantly, great optics. For the price and Nikon's super warrantee, I wasn't going to pass them up.
I took them right up to Hawk Ridge and they performed better than I expected.
(I would've rated these 10, but nothing is perfect)
