The 728B has a built-in smooth-moving 3 way head in cast aluminum suitable for use with small video cameras as well as with photographic equipment. The head has separate pan and tilt locks, a quick release camera plate and with a short pan/tilt bar for more ergonomic use, particularly while panning or tracking moving subjects. The leg pivot system uses a unique single hinge design in aluminum, which both keeps the cross section smaller and allows the leg to fold shorter than conventional tripods. The tripod is built with "D" profile tubular legs for extra torsional rigidity and quick flip leg locks for ease and speed of set-up. A quick action lever also blocks the reversible center column extension.User opinions

Awesome compact tripod!
Pros: Size, still/video combo head, # of features for the price
Cons: No bag included, 2nd quick-release plate not included
Review: This is as close to the perfect compact tripod as you can get. I needed a tripod for my digital video cam as well as my digital SLR. I'm using a compact SLR (Canon XTi) with IS zoom lenses and works great. Still/video setting allows for use as a pan/tilt head with my video cam -- very nice. No knobs to mess with when changing head position -- locks with just a trigger press. Adjustable leg angle allows ground-level shots, and can turn column upside-down for macro shots. Very small and very stable -- very high-quality. And it's a steal around $75! Wish it came with 2nd quick-release plate -- could leave on both video & still cam (so far cannot find extra plate anywhere).

Light & easy
Pros: Ease of use, sturdiness, unbeatable price
Cons: The quick release lever doesn't snap flush with the base of plate, as it was when in the box. I don't know if that's how it should or not
