Pros Graphics that amazed at release, and still hold up better then most games today.
Fun gameplay, with a movie-like single player campaign, and a endless multi-player mode, this game is amazing.
Cons Just like a movie, single player doesn't last too long on easier modes, but should last a few days on hard or veteran.
Summary If I could only choose one game to be the image of the entire Call of Duty series, it would be this one. Although not a flashy as some newer games like MW2 or Black Ops, it still holds up well and is still fun to this day.
Pros Excellent Graphics
Excellent multi-player gameplay
Frequent useful game updates/patches
Wide unit selection
Punkbuster anti-cheating Support
Free downloadable multi-player variety map pack
Cons The single player campaign is too short.
Summary This is the best fps I have ever played an probably the best game of any sort. The graphics and visuals are stunning and mixed with a suitable amount of affects it gives you a top notch gaming experience.
The single player campaign is relatively short but gets you familiar with the controls so the game is easier to handle on multi-player. The campaign can get a little confusing sometimes especially with the switching of 2 story lines (SAS and Marines) but it runs over all the controls and visits the multi-player map settings but with some single player objectives.
Multi-player Game mode gives you a large variety of options including 5 unlockable classes and 5 slots to create you own class. On create a class you can choose you primary and secondary weapons as well as 3 different perks which can hep you kill more enemies. the perks are divided neatly into categories so you will have to choose wisely which perk you will choose from each. There are a large variety of maps including a free variety map pack that cam in the form of a patch. From tightly packed office block to wide open farm yards you are sure to find a favourite map. Another good point about the maps is that there are many different climatic scenarios such as thunder storms, heavy rain or even a hot sunny day. A variety of game modes also spill out. These include Team deathmatch, Domination, Free for all, Sabotage and many more. My personal favourite is Free for all. In differnt game modes you get different numbers of points which increase your rank. For example on Free for all you will receive 5 points for a kill, on Team Deathmatch 10 points is awarded because it is harder to kill somebody considering only half the player you can kill compared to free for all.
Like most games now a days you create a profile. From your profile you can switch between single and multi-player game modes, view your rank and challenges, access the multi-player lobby, start a new campaign or enter create a class. There are a great number of challenges spread throughout the game. Most of them are revolved around killing a certain number of enemies with a certain type of gun but there are some miscellaneous ones such as sprinting a certain distance or falling to your death from a certain height. When you complete one of these challenges in a multi-player match you are awarded points. the harder the challenge the more points you are awarded. The points get added on to your rank.
Many people have reported lag while playing the game. I am running a ATI 512mb graphics card with an Intel dual core processor with 3GB of ram and haven't experienced any lag. So overall I highly recommend this game even if you're more into strategy games or TPS because the visuals and gameplay quality really make up for it.
Pros I like the wepons. Weapon sound like the real thing and plays like the real thing. I can go on forever about how great this one is. Online play is the best since Delta Force.
Cons I wish they had an Expansion Version
Pros Great graphics, Many unlocks and challenges, It carries a large online player base, The sound is great, The Perk system works perfectly
Cons Somewhat linear battlefields, No vehicles
Summary Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the fifth in the series of World War II shooters. This one changes it up by immersing the player into a modern and up-to-date battlefield. The weapons range from an M-21 sniper rifle to a .50 Desert Eagle handgun to an M4 to an M60E4. Most weapons are released through an unlock system. Each rank you gain you unlock something new. This isn't always a weapon but usually new challenges. By completing these challenges you can gain upgrades for existing weaponry. That has to be one of the biggest bonuses of the game. The ability to unlock add-ons to your current gun to upgrade it. Along with the Perk system and the Create-A-Class system, this allows you to create a very customized soldier. This has to make up for the deepest and most thought out online gameplay I've ever seen in a shooter. The graphics are stunning to a point. Some of the guns lack the detail that would have been nice to see like dings and scratches and most piles of rubble and simply sloped models with a texture plastered on them. The game lacks a large physics system that could have made up for the linear battlefields. You are able to shoot through walls (in which it calculates the wall material, bullet size, speed, and distance as well as the firearm that fired it) which is an addition rarely seen but you can destroy things like weak brick walls as you should be able to with something like an RPG. Nor can you rip through tin steel with an RPG. The glass on buildings when hit is seen as a different material and treated as such but it does not shatter as it should, a bullet hole is simply formed. When a car windshield is shot it does shatter and if shot enough the whole thing will blow up. This adds some interesting tactics for those who like to hide behind automobiles. Overall the game makes for an enjoyable and lengthy experience although I believe, unlike the Battlefield games that have such open ended gameplay, once you get through all of your unlocks you may put this one down.
"Awesome game"on by nb2000nb
Pros Very fun game with a lot of new ideas/technology. A must play
Cons Some of the graphics technology isn't quite on par with other games (i.e. Crysis), but they are still very good
