Pros great air combat, graphics, story, can be fun to play
Cons upgrades are a real joke, most plans stink, game will crash you into a mountain trying to get you back on course, lots of bugs, long load times, makes you watch cut scenes over and again without skip option, some missions ridiculous, not enough saves
Summary This could've truly been a game of the year, but Microsoft and FASA (not surprising for Microsoft) decided that releasing a game so buggy that it meets the textbook definition of computer fraud was ok. There is way too much wrong to list, but how about long load times, collecting upgrade tokens to upgrade planes that are useless (just stick with the Devastator and stop collecting upgrades, seriously). There are several obstacle course missions that make ytou think you are playing Tomb Raider with frequent undeserved deaths. If you leave the mission area, without warning, it will turn you around many times crashing you into a mountain, killing you. I've never flown a plane, but I expect real plans do not do that. The last mission was especially bad. First it is long without saves, and the last zepplin automatically hits you because after the cut scene (which you cannot skip), it places your plane under the gun literally, so if your plane is low on health, you die, then it reloads the cut scene, so you can ad infinitum die over and again, nothing you can do about it. Also, at one time, I flew into the hangar just before and it said I had no money??? I had 30,000 dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then several times the mangetic rockets go after the wrong targets even when point blank. OK, you finally beat the game, do you get a great ending? One would think after all the unendurable repeats of cut-scenes, but no, it rolls too the credits after a cheap 10 second ending. BTW, you also cannnot skip mission briefings, so get ready to hear them again and again. Also, you save an Indian Chief's life, but he feels the need to test you in a follow the leader trial where you really cannot follow, but guess where he is going. You save his life and he maakes you do this???? Microsoft and FASA should be royally be ashamed of themselves for relelasing this bug-filled, cheating game, giving credit to beta testers who were eikther incompetent, blind, or ignored, then releasing this game. The people in magazines who gave this game of the Year awards should be thrown in jail the same as the people at Fasa and Microsoft who felt it was ok to release an obviously unfinished game. Avoid this game like it owes you money, you'll avoid an ulcer.
