"A very good B-Game"
on by AVM1986Pros + A huge game that can be played for dozens of hours
+ Melee is well developed
+ Weapon upgrades and weapon fix system
+ Special abilities upgrades
+ Co-op with friends
+ Beautiful Official Soundtrack from composer Pawel BlaszczakCons - Dull fetch quest missions over and over
- Melee combat can become very repetitive
- The four characters to choose from are not really lovable
- The inventory weapon system should have been better developed
- Re-spawn systemSummary Dead Island is a very good B-Game developed by average Developer Techland and B-Publisher Deep Silver.
You start on a tropical island were it really feels like Far Cry with zombies.
But later in the game you enter different locations like sewers and the streets etc.
The game really comes to live after a few hours.
The combat reminds me of Condemned, Demons Souls and Dead Rising because of it's diversity.
Defend, kick, jump dodge to the back or at the sides and swing with all kinds of weapons.
You can also throw weapons at zombies and explosive barrels.
Combat sounds like fun, but it gets repetitive after a while.
But thank god you enter different locations with different zombies and enemies.
Using fire weapons against human enemies (especially with head-shots) feels great by the way
And you can use Fury mode and get fire weapons in your hand for some sweet diversity in the game-play.
Co-op can also make the game a little bit more fun.
It's only to bad that there isn't a real challenge because you can't die thanks to the re-spawn system.
It sounds like i really hate the game, but that isnt the case.
The game is a lot of fun, especially for a low budget B-movie kinda feel.
There are only so many things that should have been better.
