    "Worth your money"

    by Shadow900 on May 5, 2006

Pros: Free online play, many hours long, new classes, faster leveling than the previous version

Cons: Steep changes in enemy levels

Summary: I own both games, with many hours on this already. The two biggest problems with this game are, first that you are fighting pathetic level 1-10 chracters, then you are dropped in the middle of level 14-18 (a huge difference, with the maximum level being 20 for humans and 30 for some monsters), and second, if you want to play as any of the new professions, Assassins or Ritualists, then you definitely need a character of another class for monetary support because of the popularity of the class, the cost of materials for armor and weapons has skyrocketed
    Updated
This game takes away form the original in several ways, namely that you now have to buy almost all of your skills instead of earning them. But some skills, like resurrection signet (extremely useful) you no longer have to do a short quest for, or lightning orb, an elemental skill, you get immediately instead of later (I haven't found it in prophecies, but I haven't looked very hard either)
    Updated
This game is great, though my original gripe about materials stands, the prices have finally come down to near normal. The best addition to the game is the alliance system (though I haven't tried it), which you can have a confederation of guilds which you can visit the other guild's halls (provided they have one) as well as train for PvP and similar types of play without having to worry about being ranked down (though you could do a similar thing before)
    Updated
As said above, this game is much faster than the previous, but the new class additions are not very helpful, mainly because the ritualist is a weak monk wanna-be and about 50-60% of the canthan characters are assassins, 70-95% of those are complete idiots (I haven't yet met a competent assassin in any random groups). So unless you want to play as one of the core professions then you have to suffer from weakness or harsh discrimination, so it might just be better to get the original, unless you find a good guild. But if you do find an understanding guild or are content to stay with the other professions or if you have finished and liked the original then this is a good game for you
