Summary: Graphically this is the greatest game made to date. The world of HL2 is very well done and it is easy to lose yourself in the game. The steam online authentication was painful with my DSL line acting up. I don't appreciate having big brother looking over my shoulder while I am trying to play a game I bought for more than $50. However, once the game loaded it was truly amazing. The Ravenhome section was excellent and made me jump out of my chair a few times. The story was good but the ending was anticlimatic. Overall the game will rank as a standout in the same way the original game did.

What is the point of having to log into Steam in order to play a game I payed good money for?<br><br>Now the stupid thing has lost my password and I can't get it back and there is no customer support at Valve.<br><br>Now the disease is apparently spreading to 3D Realms, well, I wont be buying any of those games.<br><br>I found some wikipedia thing that claimed Newell fashioned himself as some sort of Robin Hood stealing from greedy developers. Well, I had no idea I was a game developer but the evil bastard stole from me anyway.<br><br>I hate Valve, I hate Newell, and most of all I hate Steam.<br><br>It will be interesting to see if 3D Realms can get away with this scam by lying to their customers like evil Mr. Newell did.<br><br>It certainly put me off pre-ordering.
