"Extremely Disappointed"
Pros: None that I can see
Cons: Too many to mention
Summary: I also am an avid FS fan and have owned every version. This is an embarrassment to Microsoft. It absolutely doesn't compare to FS 2004 and all the wonderfully generous add-ons people post on Avsim, FlightSim etc. Not only is the framerate terrible but the external detail of the models is unforgivable on my system. And the trim guage on the Airbus and 737 is so blurred, it's totally unreadable.
I'm running a Pentium 3 Dual Core with 2GBs Ram, 500GBs hard drive, Two GeForce 6800s in SLI config and everything stutters. I find the graphics amateur hour. When you think of something like George Grimshaw's Boston Logan International scenery for FS2004, it make FS X look like something devised by a kid of three! (Sorry kids of three!) The sounds have been thrown together from left over files going back to FS98, or so it sounds. Again, people on Avsim etc have worked so hard to produce real recorded sounds that knock your socks off, how come a massive corporation like Microsoft couldn't have pulled their fingers out and taken a little more effort over the things that actually matter to Simmers! Uninstalled it and looking forward to re-installing FS2004...not looking forward to having to download all those goody files again though!
