Review: works on my vista with sp1

Review: Warning - Don't even bother downloading if you have Vista with SP1. After a lengthy download, and install, the game starts up by going opnline and downloading the latest program patches. Halfway through this, Error 1301 apppears - the program crashes, end of story.

Error 1301 according to the publishers online forum is a clash between the game and Vista SP1. A fix in the form of disabling your Anti-virus is suggested, dubious advice but I tried anyway - no difference.

Then it suggests uninstalling SP1, and gives a link with instructions as to how to do it. This is too extreem a solution for what is a free download car game. The risk of messing up my OS by backing out of a Service pack, and losing all the hotfix and vulnerability fixes is too great, so thats the end of Strikeracer for me.

Poor show from the publisher to not make this problem more obvious to potential players, and secondly for not fixing it, or even giving a date for a fix.
