Great for the money!
Pros: Independent of bluetooth configuration; OPTIONAL power sources (ie 1. Battery or 2. Plug-Into-Outlet); Powerful transmitter; Speaker Design is actually functional AND stylish; Mountable speakers; No software, Speakers are independent (incl. controls)
Cons: "Auto-Detect" Feature is flawed occasionally (see below); Transmitter (unlike the speakers) does NOT have a battery-powered option; Remote is limited and does NOT turn on the speakers
Now, that being said...here some things I wish I knew earlier...
**The REMOTE turns off the device easily and alters volume. HOWEVER, after a 2min "transition" period the speakers will go into "Sleep" mode and can only be turned on by pressing the physical button on the speakers themselves (this is a HUGE hassle)
**The "Auto-Detect" feature is a huge waste of time and just a pain/disaster. It has about a 5sec delay between when sound starts on whatever you're playing before the transmitter turns on and broadcasts! Also...it will "Auto-Shut Off" a lot. With low volume sounds, or songs that have very little rhythm change, the transmitter just will SHUT OFF!!! Presumably they designed that feature to save battery life. BUT as I'll remind you (see above)...the transmitter is ALWAYS plugged-in (only the speakers are battery powered).
**Lastly, this is minor. The blue light on the speakers is WAY TOO BRIGHT. If you're having a night-time party...or anytime at night really, the blue light will make the entire room a glowing blue. Now, I happen to like the blue light overall...but it gets obnoxious and a lot of my friends/family complain that its really irritating.
That being said...if you're going to use the speakers for everyday use be aware that...
**You'll have to keep the speakers on all day, everyday and probably cover the blue-light with a piece of tape (I do this currently)
**You'll have to deal with the annoying auto-feature that will cause a delay in sound
Overall though, it is better than some bluetooth speakers because ANY device with a headphone jack can be used. Additionally, you can add/subtract the speakers and control each speaker separately (which is a HUGE plus...for instance...lower the volume on one side of the room while the speakers on the side of the room are louder).
If you can find a good price (below $100) they are decent buy. But, anything more than that I would shop around. Until better alternatives are made (that don't have annoying remotes/auto-shutoff) this system is a cool addition for wireless fanatics that don't want to deal with bluetooth, software, or computers!
