When I was in the process of buying my speakers I had three top choices. The klipsch 2.0, the Bose 2.0, and curiously,an altec 3.1(simulated 5.1).
Lucky enough, the t20 just came out and i was able to listen to all 4 of them side by side. And amazingly the sound quality of the creative was so much better than any of them.
Compared to the altec, the altec just had pure power and base. Compared to the bose, the bose lacked the lower frequencies. The klipsch was just about the same with the creative, but appearance wise, the creative looks so much more elegant and traditional(metal finish, fiber glass cone, chrome knobs), from an audiophiles point of view.
Only down side is that it does lack a little power, when compared to 2.1s, and you naturaly loose the extreme rumbles of a separate bass unit. BUT I must reiterate, for its class its way up there.!

Listen to it and hear the difference!!

Just bought a pair of these speakers for the desk top, I decided on these speakers after reading the reviews on here. I agree with all the positive comments on here, as they do sound nice, and better than more expensive ones I've listened to. I also like the on/off power switch, the removeable front dust covers, and the headphone socket.
As for the negative reviews, well, everyone to thier own. For around £50, I doubt you will get better for your money. OK, so your not going to get (BOSE Companion 5 multimedia sound quality), but neither are you paying £300. You get what you pay for folks, and again, at around £50, you wont go wrong.

"Tabletop with class and quality."

5 stars  | on by bmelaney

Pros

Classy looking with adustable treble, bass, and volume. Output jacks for headset and aux input for ipod or the like. Decent weight and density for bass. Crisp sound, and does NOT sound tinny or muffled. Ample volume for size requirements.

Cons

Maybe to length of supplied stereo cable that is 6 feet. I ordered a separate cable that is 12 feet for my needs.

Summary

Overall,very happy with product.
