The Cyber Acoustics CA 3000rb is a very cost effective 2.1 system that doe a credible job at music reproduction. This is essentially a 2.1 for those who have limited space & budget requirements. It is by no means perfect but I have heard some systems costing a lot more that it can hold its own against.

One the positive side of the ledger, setup is easy & the sound these speakers offer is full across the all important midrange. They offer a musical presentation although the soundstage is somewhat flattened. They handled everything that I threw at them credibly.

To get the best sound from this system all speakers should be placed on the desktop with the subwoofer unit placed inbetween the two satellites. This placement is not always possible but it's what works best.

There are limitations to what this system can do. Where they fall short is on both ends of the frequency range & useful volume. What there is of the lower bass has a very one-note quality to it & there is very little of it. The treble suffers as well. Snare drums & cymbals have a bit of a "sandpaper" quality to them. The small subwoofer is asked to do a lot. It operates over most of the frequency range. This limits operating volume & placement flexibility. There are no tone controls & the power light requires a tape treatment (extremely annoying!).

All in all though, the system does a nice job. It's perfectly acceptable for gaming, casual or MP3 listening.

"Nice choice for budget."

Pros

good sound, small size, and long enough cords.

Cons

not much wrong with them. bass could be better but i also could have spent A LOT more.

Summary

i love these speakers. they have good sound for very little investment. i paid $20 for them. if you dont want to spend a lot and still want pretty good sound, then get these.
