"Great Speakers"
Pros: Crystal clear noise.
Cons: Distortion due to bass and wires
Summary: Klipsch Promedia 2.1 have been on the market now for nearly 4 years and they continue to surpass most of the 2.1 speakers on the market today. Being the first computer-based speaker system to be certified by THX, they have a clear response in high and mid sounds. There is great bass as well, especially at 130 watts, but can come across as muffled depending on the sound. Movies and games are great with these speakers, and with a new low er price, they are great buy -even today with the newer systems on the market.Updated
One thing to add, replace the speaker wires with the much better monster cable wire. The cheap speaker wires that come with the system causes distortions and pops.

It's fairly easy to do, you save a bundle over the Monster cables, and anything you need you can obtain at your nearest Radio Shack.
Basically:
2 mono mini plugs, (4 if you have a set of Promedia 4.2 THX, in other words, two Promedia 2.1 THX connected together)
16 guage speaker wires, (make sure you get enough length so that you can move your speakers around in a room freely, specially if you are connecting them to a HIFI, theatre system, or MP3 player... remember that although these are lumped together with "computer speakers", these are actually true multimedia hi fidelity speakers)
Solder and soldering iron
Alcohol to clean the wires and mini plug contacts prior to soldering
Inexpensive multimeter to test conductivity
Insulating tape.
The upgrade of speaker wires really do the speakers tremendous justice in bringing out the speaker's full range of sound capabilities, specially around the mids. This has been my only critizism of the Promedia 2.1THX out of the factory. They bundled these absolutely wonderful speakers with a set of cheap speaker wires. It's like building a Lamborgini, and then putting the cheapest set of tires that you could find on them.
