"Great value for $120"4.5 starson by grandforker
Pros: For $120, these were a great deal. I listened to them side by side with a set of Bose 2.1 speakers and the Klipsch speakers were superior. I use them for music listening and gaming. I've had them nearly two years and couldn't be happier.
Cons: The one thing I really dislike is the location of the power button on back of the subwoofer. The design is rather plain and not especially attractive. Although that doesn't bother me, it matters to some.
Summary: As the C/net review says, if you are a gamer, you will really appreciate the quality of sound these speakers produce using a Creative X-Fi Extreme Gamer sound card. I listen to a broad range of music, from classical to heavy metal to boogie and find them excellent for that use, too. I personally prefer the bass a bit below the recommended level. Otherwise, it gets too "boomy" for my taste.
I have not experienced any problems with the quality of workmanship. However, it is not a good idea to put the subwoofer flat up against a wall if if will get moved or kicked around at all. The connector sticks out a bit and can be broken off. It's best to put an object between the subwoofer and the wall to provide a standoff buffer. Knowing that this problem exists, it's fairly simple to take preventative measures against it.
