"Great set of portable speakers"
Pros: USB connection and very portable
Cons: Short cables, and bad volume control
Summary: I bought these speakers because of their portability and the fact that you don't need an A/C adapter; they just get power from the USB port. They sound great, and about the cutting out at high volumes...I'm not sure why you would need them to go that loud for laptop speakers. One of the more annoying downsides in the volume control on the speaker. it has 2 buttons that are somewhat difficult to press, unless you're holding the entire speaker to keep it stable on the desk. If you don't hold it while pressing the volume buttons, the speaker will tilt over to the side. Other than that, I'm very satisfied with the speakers and recommend them to anyone wanting to upgrade the tiny speakers that come on laptops.
