"If you are looking for HIFi look elsewhere" on by fiqqer
Pros: Sub Woofer, control panel, remote control
Cons: Cannot replace good hifi speakers, Treble is woeful, you are better of getting the wired version (only 2 speaker cables vs 2 power cables)
Summary: I researched hard to get good computer speakers as I spend most of my time listening to music on the computer now instead of my budget HiFi. The reviews pointed to these to being amongst the best. Dont be fooled by the wireless label. The "wireless" speakers need more wires as they each have a power chord. You are better off with the z5400 which has speaker cables instead.
Sound Quality: Laughable really to even expect anything close to budget hifi from computer speakers. FOr £190 inc vat I expected very good sound quality. I am fairly disappointed. The Sub-woofer is very good, but is not worth the money on its own. I probably will replace the desktop speakers that come with it with proper normal budget bookshelf speakers. At least these can be connected to the sub-woofer which acts as an amp.
So not everything is wasted. And the control box is excellent. You can plug in other inputs - playstation, xbox, mp3 player etc.
The biggest dissapointment is the treble. Where is it? I cant hear it at all, even with a separate piezo tweeter of my own and with the treble options of a graphic equalizer turned full up.
There has to be better than this. Otherwise find a way of using your hifi speakers instead. -
"Incompatible with G7 mouse. Rear speaker hiss" on by claine
Pros: Nice control unit. Strong bass.
Cons: Nukes the G7 mouse. Rear speakers have a noticable hiss. Expensive.
Summary: These speakers completely destroy the usability of Logitech's G7 mouse. Funny isn't it. Logitech speakers that aren't compatible with a logitech mouse.
The problem is the wireless frequency used to signal the rear speakers... 2.4 GHz. This is the same frequency used for the G7 lazer mouse. Whenever the speakers are turned on, the mouse jumps and stutters so bad that it renders the mouse inpoperative, even while just using Windows. And if you are in a game, forget it! Reaching over and turning off the speakers via the power switch located on the control module results in an immediate improvement in mouse performance. Turning the speakers on again kills the mouse. For $499, I expected more. Logitech product A should not make Logitech product B inoperative.
Also, there is a noticable hiss eminating from the rear speakers. If you are picky about that sort of thing, be warned.
I'm taking these speakers back to the store and looking for something else. I'd rather have a wireless mouse than wireless rear speakers.Updated

"Awesome sound" on by jtow
Pros: THX, Wireless Rear Speakers, inputs galore, small footprint, huge sound.
Cons: Interference with 2.4ghz home phones
Summary: I like the fact that this system has such a small footprint. You don't need big amplifiers, floor standing speakers which range in the multiple thousands of dollars. I have these speakers hooked up via optical cables to my HD Cable Box and my XBOX 360. I also plug in my laptop to stream music using the mini-jack cable input. These speakers sound awesome, I put in Batman Begins on HD-DVD through my XBOX360 and it's just breath-taking. I recommeded these speakers to my parents and they have them in their bedroom hooked up to their plasma / Direct TV setup, they love them, especially since they didn't have to run ugly cables across the room for the rear speakers. I would highly recommend these speakers.

"Great value + wireless" on by tuck41iu
Pros: wireless, i got these for only $250 (with shipping) at amazon
Cons: not for audiophiles / shaking the house
Summary: Great system for a first home theater. I'm in college and living in an apartment so this system provides everything I need, and I'm not paying for power that I won't be able to use without drawing a noise complaint. This is a THX certified system which means great sound. There's plenty of inputs, (2 optical, digital coax, 3 stereo)and all the sound processing you need (dts, dolby, and prologic 2) right out of the box. Oh yeah, and it has integrated wireless speakers that work perfectly. And the best part, the price. I got these from amazon for only $250 including shipping, which is probably half the MSRP. You won't find another system in this price range that can do all this.

"A great home theatre in a box." on by ronlw
Pros: Easy set-up, good performence and wireless rear speakers.
Cons: Interferes with my cordless phone.
Summary: Took less than 20 minutes from out of box to set-up. Handles surround sound very well with a digital coax connection. Performs well through-out the sound range, even the rear wireless speakers. All-in-all, a great system for the price.
