"This is a very good Hard Rock computer speaker system" on by LesPaulCustom79
Pros: 1. The side speakers with the front and rear loaded speakers give more headroom and openess to the sound.
2. The ports on the side speakers add some low-end to the midrange, which is great for Rock'n'Roll.
3. The downward loaded and ported subwoofer haCons: 1. This is a perfect speaker system for Hard Rock, very midrange oriented but for some music, such as hip-hop, rap it does not have the bass to rattle your teeth.
2. This speaker system may not be detail enough for those that like to listen to classicalSummary: For the money at $69.95 and under $150, I think this is the best 2.1 speaker system on the market. If you want more bass, buy a 5.1 surround system with a larger subwoofer at $150 on up. I bought a more expensive 2.1 system from a competitor that cost $20 more, took it back the next day and got this system.

"Mediocre Sound, But Better Than 80% of Competition" on
Pros: Small, easy to setup/install, 360 Degree Sound as advertised, good stereo effect. Multiple outputs for many applications including 1 RCA input for TV.
Cons: Weak bass for bass lovers, mid range heavy (and lacking in clean highs), not the best looking satellites. Hard wired.
Summary: I have had this product for about 4-5 months now and got it as a warranty replacement for my previous Logitech X-230 system. I was very happy with that system - it had better looking sattelites and two drivers per satellite instead of one. The bass was also much more powerful with a 5.25" sub instead of a 4" sub. Needless to say, if you don't like too much bass or live in a small appartment, it should be about enough. But do not expect this to function as a party system replacement.
However if you do need PC speakers to replace the OEM speakers on a laptop or to use with a game console and if you are on a tight budget, this is something to potentially consider. -
"Totally fills the room with sound! Just awesome!" on by joanitar
Pros: 5 min set up. good price. sleek design, lotsa bass for my hip-hop, rap, dance, & techno!
Cons: Power/volume controler needs some velcro, it keeps sliding around on my desk .... maybe I should turn the bass down ....? LOL!
Summary: This is just an "average Joe" review ....I'm not an "audiophile", but I know how I like my music ... Loud!
This system sounds 100% better than the old KOSS Speakers I had with taped-down buttons!
Heard this system @ a friends house, and was so impressed I ordered it next day straight from Logitech online, with free shipping (!), and received it within 2 days. Price was ok, even in CAN $$$.
System is setup in office, but @ full volume it was still audible through out the whole house, including the basement!
If you want to feel "loud" in a small room, this system does the trick. Any louder and ya'd need earmuffs .... and a seat-belt!
Try it, you like it, you keep it, you don't like it, exchange it ... real simple!
But I'm keeping mine, thank you! -
"For $54.99? NO!!! but for $39.99... a DEFINITE YES!!!" on by zakumon
Pros: 1) Great replacement for the cheap, stock speakers on most computer setups
2) Satellites are beautiful, and the volume/power knob is smooth
3) For the price that I paid for them, quite the STEAL ($39.99 before taxes at a popular office supply chain)Cons: 1) For those looking for an audiophile satisfying sound these are NOT the speakers for you
2) Sub FAR overpowers the satellites
3) For the ORIGINAL price, I would not have even thought of buying this setSummary: I bought these speakers to replace my old set of Altec Lansing AVS-3000 2.1 Multimedia Speakers the other day mostly for the price I found them at while searching online. Believe me, if that old speaker system didn't take a crap on me, I would have loved to have them still, but time goes on, and electronics tend to fall apart with age (it got to the point where I had to keep a rubber band on the volume knob for both satellites to work properly). After giving it some thought, even after seeing all the negative reviews for this particular set of speakers, I decided to bite the bullet, and I am very glad I did. Sure, it doesn't really hit the notes on anything very well, but, for the price, I got a lot more than I bargained for.
The highs and mid-range need some work on the clarity department (I tried my best on the digital EQ on Winamp to sharpen it a bit, but, eh, even at my best settings for it, it's still a little lackluster), but that's expected for it's price. When it comes to the Lows, well, that's when this system's just overwhelming (to retain some kind of audio balance between the satellites and the subwoofer, I'm actually running the sub on an eighth turn of the knob, so it's definitely got QUITE the way to go on maxing it's power out for those who just LOVE that Bass... something I'm not that much of a fan of actually).
This system is just adequate for audiophiles (emphasis on the word "adequate"). I wouldn't recommend listening to Rock, Soft Rock, R&B or Country on it, unless you're willing to deal with its lackluster performance on the Highs and Mids, but for genres like Trance, House, Rap, and other more urban types of sound this system's great (since Bass is more of the focus on those genres, unlike the previous bunch)
Would I recommend it for movie watching? yeah, if you're not looking to be impressed by it's quality of sound, and looking just to be entertained, other than that, I'd just recommend one to save up a bit for one of those THX-certified speaker sets (originally I was saving for the Z-2300, but stuff kind of just hit the fan... if you know what I mean).
Now one may ask, how about for gaming? Sure! Again, if you're not looking to be impressed, but just need sound.
Overall, the system's pretty average, but I'm willing to deal with it for the price I paid for them. I know this review sounds harsh and all, but it's just the honest truth. Don't buy these speakers if you're looking to be IMPRESSED by it's "360-degree sound," but do buy it if you just need something that would satisfy your need for an everyday dose of entertainment in your life, and just don't see the point in forking over more than $50 for computer speakers. As I said before these speakers are QUITE THE BARGAIN for a little over $40 at my local office supply chain store, so, yes, I'd recommend them to anyone. -
"a small, excellent good sound system, i love it." on by ohadsnow
Pros: a very good sound on the low mid range volume (never tested the high volume range), love the bass (nice deep sound)
the fact it has 2 aux is a great thing to connected both computer and the ipod is very
comfortable.
a very clean, clear sound.Cons: - it is suitable only for small rooms and spaces
- the cables are somewhat short and though they are enough for the normal speakers position you can't get a wide distribution angle.Summary: for someone whom wants a small, convenient and an excellent sound with a very good price, then this system is for you.
