Better than most/all 2.1 computer systems
Pros: Sound clarity
Cons: Bass won't blow you away.
These are my favorite desktop speakers I've ever owned.

I do not recommend these to someone who values sound!
Pros: The color and size
Cons: If you don't like high volume, these might work for you. But why do I buy 80 Watts if I can't use it all due to poor bass at full volume?? They sound almost like my cheap speakers from "Goodwill"...only noisier!
Whatever Mannard said in his review was way wrong because he did not stress enough how pathetic these speakers are! I knew I am taking them back in less than 15 seconds of listening to them. Try them on almost full volume and hear the rattling that goes on in the "bass" portion of the speakers. I am on my way to return them coz this is a huge disgrace to my hearing system.

cheapest best quality speakers you can ever find!!
Pros: Great mid high sound, speakers can be turned up loud and have no distortion. Great for an apartment or house with roommates so no base vibrations to annoy others.
Cons: not out of the box great, there are three settings to do to get rid of the base distortion go into to your audio settings turn on equalizer, virtual surround, and loudness equalization then you have some great quality speakers.

Severe disappointment, Where’s the Base?
Pros: Great looks, Good price
Cons: Severe disappointment, Where’s the Base? These speakers are a bigger disappointment than Windows “ME” was. If a cheap sounding set of speakers is what you are looking for, buy a $15 set.

The Audio-Underachiever's Dream-Come-True!
Pros: Looks like something special.. but it's not
Cons: Cheesy sound, definately a waste of money.
I think these should sell for no more than $15 and if you spend more than that you GOT VIOLATED!
And the high reviews on this item are suspect of people who truly are 1. Hearing challenged or 2. Employed by this company.

Enough bang for the buck
Pros: Crisp sound; not too many wires
Cons: Bulky adapter
Don't pay attention to the malcontent who gave these 2 out of 10. Perhaps he should let individuals make their own decisions. Personally, I don't need bass that makes my internal organs shake. If you do, then consider other speakers. But I'm quite satisfied with the bass on these Philips jobs.

Nice sound.
Pros: Less spacious. Good and loud sound. Perfect for people who doesn't want so much boom boom. The boom boom for this model is average and it doesn't irrate the ears.
Cons: A little bit expensive as compared to Altec Lansing.

These bad boys are pretty sweet!
Pros: They are much more compact than speakers that are accompanied by a seperate subwoofer. The sound quality is quite good for the size and price of the speakers. They are pretty pleasing to the eye.
Cons: If you crank up the decibels a little too much, the speakers start dancing around. But hey, when you listen to your music, you start dancing. Your speakers just want to join you.

Fantastic!
Pros: Good, rich sound; nice form factor
Cons: Power brick is too large
I should mention, however, that I'm no audiophile, so I'm not as particular as some people might be with their speakers.

Should say "Fisher-Price" on these speakers.
Pros: Space saving design.
Cons: No bass whatsoever! You might as well buy some $10 cheapies.
They DID produce highs, nominal mids, but absolutely NO BASS. The box advertised 80 watts, but I think that it was a misprint and should have said 8 watts.
The rectangular speaker labeled "Bass" should be labeled "Sucker!" If you want bass your gonna need a subwoofer.
And whoever rated this product at 8 out of 10 is just in plain DENIAL that he got screwed out of $50-$70.
Look, any of these people rating these speakers higher than 4 out of 10 are either:
1. In denial that they just got ripped off
2. Work for Philips and are trying to improve this products overall rating
or
3. Really have NO clue what decent PC Speakers should sound like.
Man, these things compare to some built-in
laptop speakers.. If your on the $70 and under budget, SERIOUSLY, get the Logitech Z4's. They are loud, crisp, and have plenty of BOOM.
As I previously stated, my roommate bought these Philips speakers and COULDN'T RETURN THEM QUICK ENOUGH to Wal-Mart. His benchmark was my Altec Lansing 221 speakers, which aren't the best, but they do have plenty of sound range. The Philips speakers have NO BASS AT ALL. ZERO. Don't LIE. So, if you like that TWANGY TIN-CAN sound, BUY THESE PHILIPS SPEAKERS THEY ARE FOR YOU.
Philips, INC: Discontinue this product. Your name has been respectable over the years but THIS is just PATHETIC junk under the guise of "space-saving".

A 2.1 PC speaker system without a separate subwoofer
Pros: incredible sound quality, very stylish design
Cons: the built-in BASS shakes the whole speakers
The Philips SPA9300 uses the exact same speakers without the BASS part and has added a large but powerful subwoofer.
While the BASS is weaker compared to systems with a separate subwoofer, you have to realize that these speakers produce all the sound in front of you: completely synchronized and with incredible quality. There are no beats coming from a separate piece from under your desk, which adds to the special experience.
Although perfectly suited for listening to music, songs with a strong bass can give the MMS321 a hard time at higher volumes due to excessive vibration of the BASS part, which causes the speaker to tremble (along with many other things on your desk) and even move.
I believe this is the only downside to this otherwise perfect set of speakers.
The price is slightly on the expensive side compared with other 2.1 systems with similar features. What you have to remember that Philips used all their newest technologies to come up with stylish speakers capable of producing exceptional sound quality and having an integratesd BASS, mimicking an actual subwoofer. You can connect them to a laptop and carry them around, the only extra bulk being the power supply (about the size of one of the speakers).
But as we all know, you pay more for compact pieces of technology in the pc world today, so i think the price is pretty reasonable.
