"Beautiful sound that never lasts"
Pros: Sound is open and wonderfully full
Cons: Amplifier stinks - and just goes boom every 6 mo
Summary: I take very good care of my gear and there is a UPS and extremely good current to all items. I don't play things loud. And I have owned now 5 sets of these speakers and several other Klipsch speakers. The sad part is all of these sets save one have been warranty repairs. Oh it took a few years to build up that many, but they never last. The amp dies regularly. I have had Onkyo amps that have lasted for decades but I guess to get this sound at this price level this is the penalty you pay.
Sadly, because I love the Klipsch sound overall, I'd have to recommend that no one take these home unless they really don't expect more than a year or two service at most.
If you read up on the issues with Klipsch subwoofers on the web (with their built in amps) I think you'll find a disturbing trend, in that I am not alone in these problems.
Great speakers - but a horrible and pathetically short lived amplifier ruin the experience.

Sorry to hear that FXi, as I too have had problems with Klipsch. My sub died 4 months later. Klipsch now has my amp and has had it for over a month. I have no idea when I will get a new one or repaired one. If you go to www.klipsch.com and read the forums, you'll see a great number of people reporting the amp failures. It's only a matter of time.
I will never again buy a Klipsch product for as long as I live. -
I had a pair of Klipsch 2.1 speakers for 7 yrs and they still play like i bought them yesterday. I play my music loud some times and they dont misss a beat unless the bass bottoms out on some of the rap songs. So yeh this guy/gals review that they die out on yah is bull crap dont pay attention to their review. These speakers are worth your $300 and will make great computer speakers.
