Manufacturer description
Crank up the audio on your PC with this 2.1 speaker system and enjoy clean, crisp, consistent sound from your games, music, and more. The Logitech X-230's high-tech subwoofer adjusts itself dynamically to deliver distortion-free bass. And the two wall-mountable satellite speakers use Logitech's patented FDD2 technology to eliminate the uneven sound response created by conventional dual-driver designs. The result: a clear, uniform sound field without the "hot spots" and inconsistency of other dual-driver satellites.User opinions

Clear and Powerful desktop speaker system
Pros: What is best about these speaker is what you expect... the sound. The sound is clear and the bass is clean. You can easily play music in one room and listen in the next The styling of these speakers is quite nice and they are not oversized.
Cons: An easier to access bass level knob would have been beneficial. The master volume is located on the right hand speaker. A bass adjustment would have been nice there as well.

Great Sound, Great Price!
Pros: Good sound, Good design, Great Price.
Cons: Not too powerful, Bass not to tight.
The only problem is that on my speakers, when you turn the volume it makes a sound like some dirt inside the connections or something.

Best Budget Speakers Available
Pros: Great Price, modern / good looking, very good sound quality, somewhat small, powerful.
Cons: Sound quality can't stand up to the top of the line z-2300 (but for 1/4 the price, who cares), sub volume control is on the sub; not a remote

great speakers...great price...subwoofer is the issue
Pros: great sound quality
look really good
no cracking of sound and are over 2 years old
outstanding base if you tweak through media player (subwoofer maxed out while listening to music and still no cracking )
Cons: subwoofer control is in back...real nuisance.
no controller to access the subwoofer
if you insert headphones into jack, u have to lower the volume from the computer , if u don?t , ur headphones will explode

Great speakers for the money
Pros: Sound pretty good, look cool, small subwoofer is surprisingly powerful, Low price. (I got mine on buy.com for 21 bucks.)
Cons: The thin fabric on the speaker cones feels kinda delicate. The sattalite speakers are tall and narrow so they tip over easily.

May the force be with you!
Pros: Awsome Looking Speakers; Great Sound; Bass That'll Make Your House Jump
Cons: Only 2 Speakers
These are 2.1 surround sound so we'll stick with 2.1. These speakers give high quality sound without the need of an expensive sound card.
The base is pumping! Make your house jump! I wouldn't mind putting this thing in my car - jeez.
This set of speakers is "THE BANG FOR A BUCK"!

After Some Tweaking, Sound I Can Live With
Pros: Serious Bang for the Buck ( especially after tweaking), Nice Styling
Cons: Overly Aggressive Bass Can Overshadow set's Good Qualities
I wanted to like these speakers...
...nice styling, spacious sound...
...but, even with the bass module turned all the way down, they were far too boomy.
Fileaudiophile's recommendations ( be sure to read his review!) were essential towards my finally discovering solutions to getting (relatively) good sound out of X-230's:
Currently, I have both My Windows Media and i-Tunes equalizers at the settings F/A suggested.
The bass module now resides under the desk. It's at it's minimal setting and turned so that it's port is firing into carpet.
Here, the result is a smooth non-obtrusive...and still quite potent... bass that let's the satellites show off their best qualities.
Again; thanks for the tips, Fileaudiophile.

Crystal Tones, Deep base = Love at first sound
Pros: Can hang from wall or sit on desktop. Thick protective wires, Excellent sound
Cons: Now I have to re-record hundreds of MP3 with over 220kbps because music imperfections can be heard. Flat notes sound flat and you want to stab your ears out!!!
Second: Notice in the cons the three exclaimation marks. I thought my previous CA speakers were very good, and they were better than the previous coffee can sounding ones. These do not have frail wires; that is for better electrical conduction. They are beautifully designed and elegant as pictured. Separate volume controls for the subwoofer and the satalites. I was pleasantly suprised to see that the base swivles so I can mount these on the wall. But seriously I have to record hundreds of songs over again on MP3 because of the music definition clairity. I began recording a while ago with 320kbps quality so that is good, but everything less than original recording of 128kbps is horrid. Converting from a lower to a higher kbps just makes things worse. The highest 320kbps sounds spectacular the converted formats with clipped high notes and flat bass makes you want to go "Oedipus Rex" on your ears!!!
The price was good, $55 tax incl. at Office Depot, but still worth it, no regrets. Get them.

The Best Value
Pros: Energy efficient, theatre quality audio
Cons: No surround limits audio range
The choice for this unit was a very lucky choice, since I did not experience the audio before plugging it in.
I am pleased that I chose a monitor with no built-in speakers because this is the perfect solution.
The wattage is very energy friendly, the volume is perfect for condo living and the color is a compliment to my new system, being that the tower and the monitor both match the speakers.
There is a headphone port in the front right speaker as well as a volume and a seperate volume on the subwoofer as well.
When watching a DVD, this system delivers the theatre experience, where if I do not have a bag of popcorn, I feel something is missing.
With the focus on energy efficiency these days, it's comforting to know that Logitech has provided the perfect solution to keep the energy bills down.

excellent speakers, great value
Pros: sound clarity, frequency range, price
Cons: mini-towers need weighted bases
My only gripe is that the mini-towers are a bit wobbly on my desk due to their high center of gravity and plastic bases. It's a very small concern considering all the positives.
I am extremely pleased with this purchase and would recommend these speakers to anyone!

With some EQ, surprising sound in a small package
Pros: Price is right, size is small and sound is better than anything in the price point
Cons: EQ is needed - weak low mids and 100Hz is muddy

A LOT of GREAT sound for almost no money!!!!!
Pros: The sound quality = amazing, Bass = deep and powerfull, Very, very reasonable price!!!
Cons: No cons at all!!

Excellent sound and well built
Pros: Very good bass response, Well Built, Headphone Jack on right speaker.
Cons: No Sub remote volume control, satellites aren't powerful enough.
However, after a few months, and a few parties, there is a noticeable distortion at mid-volume from the satellite speakers. It is more annoying than intrusive, although I have only myself to blame for pumping the volume up too much!
To sum them up, they are the best speakers to go for in the price range and will suit most peoples needs, offering superb value for money and great sound from a compact package.

Great value, sub too intense.
Pros: Overall, it sounds great. The price is unbeatable ($30-50). It will get as loud or as quiet as you need it to, while still sounding great. Sub has plenty of power.
Cons: Sub has too much power. With the sub turned all the way down, it is almost quiet enough. There seems to be a boost at about 50Hz also. I have to cut 50Hz by about 6dB to get it to sound right.

Best buy for the bucks!
Pros: Clean evenly matched sound
Cons: Can think of none
I've been listening to floor models at several stores and I'm glad I picked these. I was looking for the best speakers at no more then $50 and I found them. If you are on a budget these are for you and they are better then the stuff in the $99 range. Definitely better then the three satellite mini towers.

VERY GOOD for the Price
Pros: i got this set today and i was amazed to hear how it sounds. I just had to adjust my setting on Winamp, and this puppy sounded like a $150 set.
Cons: the only prop was that the sub sounds a little bassy at full blast

Pros: Look good in black next to my IBM ThinkPad Very LOUD without distortion Good bass Good build quality
Cons: Could do with a bit more mid range. Stands do not freely adjust But these are only minor issues

Cons: the colour, Silver^^ would be nice

Great sound, LOW price
Pros: Great sound, deep and full bass. More power than most 2.1 speaker sets. Loud enough for 99% of users. If you need a 2.1 system this is THE system to buy!
Cons: No remote, not that important though, b/c my speakers sit right next to my laptop... (has volume controls on the right speaker)
out of 46 user reviews
High performance at a low price!!!
Pros: Style and color looks great. Sub is small but provides good bass. Speakers provides great sound.
Cons: Have to adjust subwoofer volume at the sub, would be nice if they had a sub volume know with the speakers.

Pretty Good For The Price
Pros: These sound good for the price, and offer more base than most speakers in that price range.
Cons: They cant get too loud without starting to lose sound quality. If you are willing to save up another $40-$50 then you can get some very very good 2.1 speakers....
