"Chance of severe damage to USB ports"
Pros: Less expensive; VGA screen
Cons: Russian roulette whether will fry your mobo; horrible tech support
Summary: To preface my comments, I've been a computer professional for 25 years, so I know a thing or two about what I'm going to say. 4 hrs into use, my new Axim X50v fried BOTH the USB ports AND the Bluetooth on my Acer tablet PC during ActiveSync operation. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH AXIM X50s! Let the buyer beware! Read all about it on www.aximsite.com ("Cradle of death" thread under X50 Hardware Problems), or even on Dell's own Axim forums. Customer & tech support outsourced to India/Panama and completely incompetent. No explanation from Dell, despite the fact that this nonsense has been going on for months (prior to my misadventure). Unit returned for refund.

Dell used to be known for very good tech support. Well know with them outsourcing support to Panama and India, it is one of the worst support out there. And I'm talking about all support even for sales. I called to ask few questions about Axim and I had to spend 30min with the rep because he wanted my customer number, not for a sale but a simple question about the product.
As for the USB issue, I have a person in my company that fried 2 USB ports and a MB using a Dell Axim, so be aware.
