"Good idea, poor battery life"
Pros: small and compact
Cons: poor battery life
Summary: While the Nokia N770 Internet Tablet sounds like a great idea there is one major flaw of the device. According to the specifications on the Nokia website this thing only gets 3.5 hours of battery life before it needs to be recharged. Why buy something that sounds wireless when in fact you will have to be tethered to an outlet to use it?

It sounds like you don't even HAVE the device. I think the 3.5 hours is very conservative. I can leave mine on for days without re-charging, and get at least 5 hours of constant use before it runs down. I also got a couple of spare batteries for $5 each, just in case. Have yet to use them. This EASILY beats almost any laptop for battery life, at about 1/20th of the weight and 1/50th of the size. It's a great device for the use and the money.

I just received my Nokia 770 and online battery life is way over 12 hours. I browse the web for 6 hours and left it connected to my WIFI overnight with no dead battery. The unit will switch to power save mode after a wait time which is user adjustable. Try leaving your laptop connected to your WIFI overnight. You can also adjust the brightness of the screen to further enhance the battery life. Overall this device has better battery life than all internet enabled device I've used including the Sharp SL6000L PDA.

They only get an hour or two more life, and this is essentially what this is, a tablet PC.
