"Use it as it was intended ..."

    by Scuba_Steve on April 7, 2006

Pros: great battery life; great screen; connects wirelessly better than my laptop

    Cons: there are none

Summary: I tell you what, I have just about had it with Cnet reviews. On more than one occasion you have gotten it wrong after I "reviewed" the same product myself. This device is the best thing to come down the pipe in a long time. IF you use it as it was intended to be used. C'mon ... if you want a phone, buy something else, if you want to scroll back and forth to read text, buy a Windows PDA. I'm extremely happy with my 770 and you would have a hard time convincing me some Windows PDA could do better. Your review is a BIG injustice to this product. I no longer will be using Cnet to obtain an opinion about another product - you all are on crack! You owe Nokia a big, big apology. They had the guts to produce a cutting edge device and you diss it because you can't call from it, or hook a stupid ethernet cable into it? Thats not how it was intended to be used. And battery life, your reviewer must have had full screen lumination on and surfing constantly to get anything less than 3 hours. Mine stays on 24/7, never turn it off. Plug it in every couple/three days "like" my phone. And I'm using it all day at the office to carry around with me (yeah, I'm an IT guy). I'm rambling now, but just so everyone knows, Cnet has lost my respect - totally - with this review.

    Scuba-

PS - If you don't think Cnet got it wrong (again) look at all the user reviews praising this device. Cnet reviewers are noobs!

I have to agree... I get great battery life...much better than I expected. Perhaps the battery the reviewer used was abused in early life (left discharged, memory charged, etc.). At $139, there is NO other product NEAR this for capability. The minor improvements of the N800 do not warrant double or more the price.

I totally agree with you as I own a 770 also. Great battery life and functionality. These reviewer have lost track of the intended use.

misreviewed perhaps, but this post seemed less a review of the tablet and more of a cheap-shot at cnet? i read plenty of your bile, but from it, took away precious little substance.

nonetheless, thank you for your input.
