"Total crap, not worth the plastic it's made of."
Pros: Screen size
Cons: Slow, inaccurate, constantly crashes, slow to recalculate route, long time to acquire a signal.
Summary: If Pharos want to compete in this business world then their FIRST priority should be CUSTOMER SERVICE. The problem with their customer service is that the only thing you get from them when you call is a scolding or a BS story like, "Oh...well we're addressing that issue at this very moment."
This unit was slow to start, PAINFULLY slow to acquire, and in one day crashed more times than Evel Knievel did in his entire career. A call to customer service got me knowhere. All they ever told me to do was perform a system re-boot...right, easy when you're on the road, or reload the software...okay, when I get home.
Bottom line is you can pull over and read a map faster than this thing can get you to your destination. I wouldn't even waste two good thumbs on a thumbs-down rating.
Now before you jump to conclusions, I have many years using and navigating with GPS. I'm no novice. For the price, I wasn't expecting a $10K nav system, but I was expecting it to perform the basic functions...and a touch of sympathy from Pharos customer service wouldn't hurt. As it is, because of this experience, Pharos is NOT on my list for ANY devices.
